Prof. Ajit Prasad
Director and Professor of Strategy, IIM Lucknow
Ajit Prasad is Director of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. As also Professor of Economics and Strategy. An alumnus of St. Stephens College, the Delhi School of Economics and International Management Institute, he has had rich experience in the Government, Industry and Academia.
His past industry experience relates to organizations including the State Bank of India, Planning Commission (Government of India), Steel Authority of India, and the UN/ESCAP at Bangkok.
His past academic experience relates to teaching at Delhi University and Management Development Institute, Gurgaon. He has been a visiting faculty at the IIMs, S P Jain, IIFT, MICA and other leading business schools.
His publications and research interests are in the areas of Corporate Planning, Strategic Thinking, and Governance inclusive of issues on Ethics. He is the author of three books, including the best selling “Dictionary of Strategic Management” (Excel:2003), and innumerable research papers in national and international journals. Has been a consultant to several private, public and government organizations including the Bureau of Industrial Costs and Prices, GOI; the Public Enterprises Selection Board; KRIBHCO; Hindustan Zinc Limited; Larsen & Toubro; Indian Oil Corporation, etc. He is on the Academic Governing board of Milano Politechnique, Milan, Italy. In 2010, he was appointed as Independent Director on the board of Power Finance Corporation. He is also on the Board of IIIT, as also MoFP, Institute of Food and Catering Technology, Sonepat.
