Custom Course earns 2009 Gold Award for Excellence in E-Learning
ATLANTA, Georgia - October 11, 2009 – NIIT has been awarded the Gold for Excellence in E-Learning in the 2009 Learning in Practice Awards from Chief Learning Officer Magazine. NIIT is honored alongside the 45 winners of this year’s awards and has received this award for the second consecutive year.
"The Learning in Practice awards were established to recognize transformational and visionary leaders in enterprise education," said Norm Kamikow, president and editor in chief of Chief Learning Officer magazine. "A record number of top learning executives and solution providers were nominated by their peers. The winners are the industry leaders who truly champion innovation and transform it into learning and value for their organizations."
NIIT was honored specifically for its custom e-Learning course developed for Diageo. “We are proud to be recognized with this award particularly among our esteemed colleagues in the learning industry,” said Sapnesh Lalla, Senior Vice President of NIIT (USA), Inc. “In an economy where the learning organization must more aggressively show clear impact on business, we continue to be relied upon to partner with companies such as Diageo to assist them in delivering programs which clearly demonstrate measurable results.”
Diageo leveraged NIIT’s award winning Critical Mistake Analysis Methodology to develop the course which has returned its investment back to the organization in just 90 short days. The solution, which is just one component of NIIT’s Managed Training Services portfolio, enabled Diageo to quickly and efficiently train new hires on systems and procedures thereby decreasing service desk calls and improving employee productivity.
“Learning at Diageo is our global approach to growing talent and building capability to drive business performance,” said Kim Goodwin, Diageo IS Training and Change Management. “Our learning culture empowers employees to own their personal development, actively supported by their line managers. We view learning as a continuous process enabled through multiple channels, both structured (face to face and e-learning) and unstructured.”
