Content Development
- NIIT develops and provides interactive multimedia educational material for IT Courses as well as Subjects such as English, Science, Mathematics and Social Science. Multimedia content can be provided in English or translated in regional languages customized to the state governments’ requirements.
- Textual Instructional materials for IT Courses.
- Courseware can be provided in English as well as in vernacular languages such as Hindi, Bengali etc.
NIIT has partnered with the following State Governments of India to provide computer aided education in schools

Computer Aided Learning under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Rajya Mission, Tripura in Government Primary/Upper Primary/ High/Higher Secondary Schools in the State of Tripura |

Description of the Project:Supply of Computer Hardware, Software and connected accessories and provision of Computer Aided Learning services in 28 Government High and Higher Secondary Schools with primary and upper primary units in Tripura on Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
Responsibilities of the Government:
- Accommodation to install the computer system will be provided by the School free of cost. The size of the accommodation shall be approximately 20’x20’
- To provide 1-Phase/3-Phase power connection inside the room.
Responsibilities of NIIT:
- To provide Computer Aided Learning as per the hard spots through Multimedia based Educational Software in all the schools without interruption.
- To supply Computer and connected accessories and maintain them for proper uninterrupted operations.
- To provide courseware/books for Computer Education to each student every year.
- To supply the Multimedia based Computer Aided Learning Software covering 4 subjects, viz. English, Science, Mathematics and Social Science for Standards VI to VIII in English or Bengali.
- To supply one set of Product usage Manual for each school.
- To provide one faculty member for each school to assist the subject teachers for providing Computer Aided Learning/ Education to Class VI to VIII.
- To impart training to at least 5 government teachers including Headmaster/Headmistress of the school in Computer Aided Learning.
- To impart technical training to the Subject Teachers for a period of 5 days on using Multimedia Based Educational Software and to provide technical assistance to the subject teachers in the lab while imparting Computer Aided Learning/Education.
- To provide Electrical Sub-meter and to pay Electricity charges for running the computer lab.

Providing Computer Education in 500 Government Secondary and Higher Secondary schools in Maharashtra under BOOT Model

Total No. of Schools Tendered: 500 Total No .of Schools being serviced by NIIT: 500 Total contract period: 5 years Description of the Project: To supply and install computer hardware, software and connected accessories and providing Computer Education and Computer Based Education services in the specified Government Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools from Classes VIII to XII in Maharashtra on BOOT Model for period of 5 years.
Responsibilities of the Government:
- Accommodation 250 sq.ft. space to install the computer system will be provided by the School free of cost.
- To provide 1-Phase/3-Phase power connection inside the room.
- To provide venue for conducting technical training to the Subject Teachers.
Responsibilities of NIIT:
- To provide one full-time instructor at each school.
- To supply, install and maintain the entire system in working condition during the contract period.
- To print and supply the courseware every year in Marathi and English to each student for Computer Education.
- To provide 256 kbps internet broadband wherever available. Other places to provide internet through dialup line.
- To impart training to at least 5 teachers per year per school.
- To provide testing and certification in Computer Education for the students at the end of every academic year.
- To supply adequate stationery and consumables at each school.
- To supply Multimedia based Computer Aided Learning software for Classes VIII to XII as per syllabus.
- To impart technical training to the Subject Teachers for a period of five days per year on using Multimedia Education software and fundamentals of Computer Education.
- To provide technical assistance to the subject teachers for imparting Computer Aided Learning/Education.
- To insure all the equipments installed in the Computer Centre.
- To provide Electrical Sub-meter and to pay Electricity charges for running the computer lab.
- To make provision for electricity and generator and meet running expenses there on for a minimum period of 4 hours per day.
