Introduction The Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions (DESGN) Program v 2.0 is a new version. In addition to general approaches and technologies for network design, it promotes Cisco solutions in designing and implementing scalable internetworks. Among specific goals is the promotion of the modular approach to network design that has been intuitively used for the last few years and that Cisco formalized. The early modular approaches to network design divided networks into access, distribution and core layers only, separately for the campus and the WAN part. The Enterprise Composite Model facilitates designing, planning, implementing, operating and optimizing (PDIOO) networks by concentration on a certain module and on relations between the modules. Taking into account that most network solutions today (e.g. voice, video, storage networking, content networking) are typically overlay solutions spanning several modules, the composite modular approach seems even more relevant and is the main focus of this course. In addition, services virtualization and the SONA architecture are presented. The general program objectives remain the same, because ultimately - the tasks a designer must perform did not change, however, the products, technologies, services and solutions did change.
Duration: 40 Hours
Prerequisites
The knowledge and skills that a learner must have before attending this program include the following:
Global Certification Mapping: If a student clears the exam 640-863 DESGN, he/she gets certified as CCDA (Cisco Certified Design Associate).
Implementing Cisco IOS Network Security
Exam Code: 640-553 IINS
Introduction: Implementing Cisco IOS Network Security (IINS) v1.0 is an instructor-led program presented by Cisco training partners to their end-user customers. This program focuses on the necessity of a comprehensive security policy and how it affects the posture of the network. Learners will be able to perform basic tasks to secure a small branch type office network using Cisco IOS security features available through web-based GUIs (Cisco Router and Security Device Manager [SDM]) and the command-line interface (CLI) on the Cisco routers and switches.
Exit Profile: Upon completion of the program, the candidate can install, troubleshoot and monitor Cisco Security technologies.
Global Certification Mapping: If a student clears 640-553 IINS, then he/she gets certified as CCNA Security (Cisco Certified Network Associate Security)
Introduction: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP®) validates knowledge and skills required to install, configure and troubleshoot converged local and wide area networks with 100 to 500 or more nodes. With a CCNP certification, a network professional demonstrates the knowledge and skills required to manage the routers and switches that form the network core, as well as edge applications that integrate voice, wireless, and security into the network. The CCNP curriculum includes building scalable Cisco networks, Cisco multilayer switched networks, securing converged wide area networks, and optimizing converged networks.
Duration: 120 Hours
Prerequisites Must be CCNA certified
Exit Profile: Upon completion of the program, the candidate can Install, Configure and Troubleshoot Converged Local and Wide Area Networks with 100 to 500 or More Nodes.
Global Certification Mapped: If a student clears 642-902 ROUTE, 642-813 SWITCH and 642-832 TSHOOT, he/she get certified as CCNP (Cisco Certified Networking Professional)
Exam Code: 642-902 ROUTE
Introduction Implementing Cisco IP Routing (ROUTE) v1.0 is an instructor-led training programme presented by Cisco training partners to their end customers. This program is designed to help students prepare for Cisco CCNP® certification. The ROUTE programme is a component of the CCNP curriculum. The ROUTE programme is designed for network engineers with at least one year of professional work experience, who are ready to advance their skills and work independently on complex network solutions. Students will learn to plan, configure and verify the implementation of secure enterprise LAN and WAN routing solutions using a range of routing protocols. This programme also covers configuration of solutions to support branch offices and mobile workers
Prerequisites CCNA
Exam code: 642-813 SWITCH
Prerequisites: CCNA
Introduction Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks (SWITCH) v1.0 is an instructor-led training Programme presented by Cisco training partners. This programme is designed to help students prepare for Cisco CCNP(R) certification. The SWITCH programme is one of three components in the CCNP curriculum. SWITCH is designed for network engineers with at least one year of professional work experience, who are ready to advance their skills and work independently on complex network solutions. Students will learn to plan, configure and verify the implementation of complex enterprise switching solutions using Cisco's Campus Enterprise Architecture. The programme also covers secure integration of VLANs, WLANs, voice and video traffic into campus networks.
Programme Outline
Exam code: 642-832 TSHOOT
Introduction Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks (TSHOOT) v1.0 is an instructor-led training programme presented by Cisco training partners. This programme is designed to help students prepare for Cisco CCNP(R) certification. The TSHOOT programme is one of three components in the CCNP curriculum. TSHOOT is designed for network engineers with at least one year of professional work experience, who are ready to advance their skills and work independently on complex network solutions. Students will learn to (1) plan and perform regular maintenance on complex enterprise routed and switched networks and (2) use technology-based practices and a systematic ITIL-compliant approach to perform network troubleshooting. Extensive labs provide for hands-on learning and reinforce troubleshooting skills.
