case study

Global External and Internal Learning Administration for Employees and Third Parties

Our customer is a leading international group of energy and petrochemical companies with a presence in over 70 countries. With over 86,000 employees, one of the key challenges for our client’s L&D organization was to provide consistent, efficient and effective learning experience to all employees across 70 countries. At an operational level, this meant managing learning administration at a large global scale internally for employees at the company and externally for the third-party ecosystem.

NIIT transformed the customer’s Learning Event Management through a single, globalized operating model, with standardized processes and ways of working, and a single governance structure, resulting in efficiencies and improved service delivery. NIIT manages our customer’s global internal learning administration with a 120-member team – 35 onsite across twelve hubs and the rest offshore. NIIT provides LMS administration and learning event coordination across the organization.

NIIT’s operating model to manage external learning administration is a combination of a fully variable (pay-as-you go) model for learning service and a ‘gain-share’ model for savings in specific areas such as vendor management.
