The need for 5G Security

5G is perfectly suited to support the new domains of business-critical services provided by fast-growing industries and will help them succeed with its ubiquitous network connectivity. However, 5G’s higher capacity to connect billions of people and devices also increases threat opportunities that must be resolved. 5G requires additional levels of security and privacy to mitigate threats from new user domains such as IoT devices and edge computing applications, which were not possible with previous wireless technologies.

About The Speakers

1. Laurent Lapierre - Learning Specialist in 5G, 4G & Single RAN Learning at Nokia, France
Laurent spent his past 15 years within the Learning Department of Alcatel, then Alcatel-Lucent, as a trainer, training content developer, designer and curriculum manager. His experience spreads over Mobile Core networks, IP networks, as well as Access networks. He began his career with a major Communication Service Provider in France, before joining Alcatel and Nokia.

2. Kamal George - Learning Specialist in 5G and 4G Core Learning at Nokia, Bangalore
Kamal is involved in creating 5G Networking and Industrial Learning Certification courses. He has over 15 years of experience in the telecom industry working as a software developer, trainer and training portfolio manager. He started his career in Wipro before moving to Nokia as a Telecom trainer.
