NIIT Limited reported its results for the first quarter ending June 30, 2021. 2020.
During the Quarter, the company recorded a Net Revenue of Rs. 301 Cr, up 49% YoY and Profit After Tax of Rs. 51.4 Cr, up 78% YoY. EBITDA was recorded at Rs. 72.1 Cr, up 196% YoY and EBITDA margin was recorded at 24%, up 1188 bps. EPS stood at Rs. 3.8.
The company completed the buyback of 98.75 Lac equity shares at a price of Rs. 240/- per Equity Share in May 2021. The shares purchased under the buyback have been extinguished. At the end of the quarter, post the buyback the outstanding shares stood at 132.82 million.
Corporate Learning Group (CLG) recorded revenues of Rs. 263.3 Cr, up 47% YoY during Q1.
During the quarter, CLG signed 3 new MTS contracts, and expanded the scope of work with 2 existing customers. The total number of MTS customers stand at 59 with an overall revenue visibility of $298 Mn.
CLG won three new MTS contracts in the life sciences and healthcare segment and expanded its relationship with two global technology majors.
Skills & Careers Group (SNC) recorded net revenue of Rs. 37.8 Cr, up 62% YoY during Q1. SNC has successfully transitioned its customers to the NIIT Digital platform and through this, learners are able to access their learning plans and all associated content and services digitally.
During the quarter NIIT Digital launched programs in Cloud Computing & Cybersecurity to meet the demand for job roles in the digital sector. NIIT Digital also announced the launch of Data Science Foundation Program and Advanced Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Data Science and Machine Learning, to create Day 1 industry-ready Certified Data Science professional.
NIIT entered into a partnership with Sushant University, one of the leading education institutions situated in Gurugram, to offer their upcoming batches of Bachelors in Computer Applications (BCA) and Bachelors in Technology (B Tech) in Computer Science, specializations in Banking & Finance, and StackRoute – Full Stack Product engineering respectively.
For the quarter NIIT Institute of Finance Banking and Insurance (NIIT IFBI) and Axis Bank launched a FinTech Professional Programme under the Axis Bank - NIIT Digital Banking Academy. The course is designed to build future ready FinTech Professionals for Axis Bank.
A leading global retailer signed up with StackRoute, an NIIT venture, for building data science capabilities for its analytics team based in India. A large global IT services organization also signed up with StackRoute to build capabilities on hybrid cloud across application development and infrastructure management.

NIIT has entered into a partnership with Sushant University, one of the leading education institutions situated in Gurugram, to offer their upcoming batches of Bachelors in Computer Applications (BCA) and Bachelors in Technology (B Tech) in Computer Science specializations in Banking & Finance, and StackRoute – Full Stack Product engineering respectively.
The partnership aims to deliver Future Ready programs to improve learning and employability for fresh graduates and empower them with the necessary skills, to become Day 1 job ready Industry professionals.
The students opting for BCA and B Tech in Computer Science at Sushant University in admission year 2021, will have an option to enrol for these specializations which will be delivered during the 2nd and 3rd year of their degrees. The specialization programs will be delivered virtually to learners via interactive instructor-led sessions. The sessions are led by qualified Industry professionals and experienced faculty at NIIT, imparting hands-on learning techniques, industry exposure and job training. Additionally, it includes webinars with Industry professionals in every semester of the degree.

Duration for the Banking & Finance specialization for BCA students is ~300 hours split across 2 semesters, while the StackRoute – Full Stack Product Engineering specialization, a Full Stack Development program for B Tech students is for 800+ hours split across 3 semesters. On successful completion of the programs, the learners will be provided with full placement assurance and receive certificates from NIIT.

The Advanced Post Graduate Program in Cloud Computing and DevOps systematically helps learners acquire all the critical competencies required including the foundational system administration, cloud administration and Devops to take on the role of a Cloud DevOps Engineer.
The Advanced Post Graduate Program in Cybersecurity and SecOps equips learners with Skills & Knowledge to confidently join Cybersecurity practice teams and contribute to "Identify", "Protect", "Detect", "Respond" & "Recover" from threats.
These StackRoute programs are focused on experiential learning delivered virtually over 18 weeks (720 learning hours). These programs have tech mentors for live virtual connect meets who work with the learners through the program. The model combines the convenience of online learning coupled with the intensity of scheduled mentoring.
Additionally, NIIT has also launched a Foundation Program in IT Infrastructure & Security, which will articulate into either of the two Post Graduate Programs i.e. Cloud computing or Cybersecurity.
As per a report by NASSCOM, industry observers have projected that IT spending on cloud platforms will reach 60% of all IT infrastructure. Also, 60-70% of all software services and technology spending and growth rate for investments in Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) have almost doubled from 32% in 2016 to 56 % in 2019, making it a rapidly growing sector of cloud-platforms. It is now more critical than ever to acquire these skillsets and equip students for the new future of work. Through these programs, NIIT offers to bridge the gap, helping to maintain the balance of the demand and availability of cybersecurity and cloud computing professionals in organisations.
On successful completion of the immersive programs, the learners will be provided with full placement assurance and receive certificates from StackRoute.

- To create Day 1 industry-ready StackRoute Certified Data Science professional
StackRouteTM, an NIIT venture announced the launch of Data Science Foundation Program and Advanced Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Data Science and Machine Learning.
The Data Science Foundation Program (Full time or Part time) will empower learners with foundational skills to analyze and visualize data using Excel and Python. Upon completion of all assessments, learners acquire the role specific knowledge & skills and gain the experience to meet the respective learning outcomes. The Advanced PGP in Data Science and Machine Learning (Full time or Part time) enables learners to join data science practice team and gain experience to grow up as Data Analyst or ML engineer or Jr. Data Scientist.
The programs are delivered virtually to learners who are keen to gain on-demand Data Science skills.
Duration for the Data Science Foundation Program is 6 weeks while the Advanced PGP in Data Science has a duration of 18 weeks. For the part time mode, duration for these programs is 20-24 weeks and 40-48 weeks respectively.
Analytics Insight has forecast that by 2025, there will be 137,630 data science job openings in India, rising from 62,793 jobs in 2020. As Per LinkedIn, there has been a 650% increase in data science jobs since 2012.
