Kolkata, December 02, 2006: BIG 92.7 FM, the radio
initiative of Adlabs Films Ltd has partnered NIIT’s World Computer Literacy Day
(WCLD) movement, this year. Every year, on December 2, Asia’s IT Trainer, NIIT
sets out with a mission of bringing people and computers together through its
revolutionary WCLD movement.
In its act of solidarity for NIIT’s WCLD movement, BIG 92.7 FM, will air a
series of messages, programmes and promotions in Kolkata to spread awareness
about the need for people today to be computer literate. The FM radio network
that reaches over 200 million Indians across 45 cities, 1000 towns and 50000
villages will leverage its talent and resources to help bridge the digital
divide.
According to Ms. Tulika Sinha, Head of NIIT’s East and South India
Operations, “With WCLD in its sixth year, we have already helped over
500,000 people bridge the digital divide. The success of WCLD movement lies in
the commitment to the movement and the integrated effort of NIIT and partner
organisations such as BIG 92.7 FM spreading awareness about the need for
computer literacy. We are happy to have BIG 92.7 FM as our partner in this
initiative and hope to spread this light through World Computer Literacy Day
movement."
