Chief Justice of India felicitates NIIT’s Rajendra S Pawar for outstanding contribution to the field of education
- Gives away ‘‘Distinguished Educationist Award’ from Rotary Education Foundation
New Delhi, November 08, 2006: NIIT Group Chairman Rajendra S Pawar has been conferred the ‘Distinguished Educationist Award’ instituted by the Rotary Education Foundation in recognition of his contribution to the field of education. Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, Justice Y.K. Sabharwal felicitated Pawar and gave away the award at a function held in the capital late last evening.
Rotary Education Foundation has instituted the ‘Distinguished Educationist Award’ to acknowledge and recognise teachers, academic activists and educationists who have served the society with integrity, in the field of Education, Culture, Youth or Community Service.
Pawar is the Chairman and co-founder of the NIIT Group that encompasses two businesses—NIIT Technologies Limited, the software and services arm and NIIT Limited, the Learning Services organization, with operations in over 40 countries. NIIT pioneered IT Training and Education in India, 25 years ago, and has today emerged as a global player with undisputed leadership in the entire Asia Pacific region.
Pawar’s insights and vast experience in the ICT sector have fueled India’s endeavours to create relevant, employable manpower for the technology industries and build a bridge between the requirements of the emerging IT market and Gen Next that requires jobs.
