Bangalore, 7 January, 2011: Launching a breakthrough
initiative that aims at making the vital subject of mathematics simpler, easier
and fun to learn for school students, leading Global Talent Development
Corporation and Asia’s largest IT trainer- NIIT, today installed the
state-of-the-art ‘NIIT eGuru Math Lab’, at Ryan International School in
Bangalore. Ms. Grace Pinto, Managing Director, Ryan International Group of
Institutions, inaugurated the revolutionary concept in presence of Lt. Col.
Tarun Govind Mathur, Vice-President, School Learning Solutions, NIIT Ltd.
‘NIIT eGuru Math Lab’ is a novel concept which enables school students to
learn and explore mathematical concepts and verify mathematical facts and
theorems using Multiple Teaching and Learning Aids.

Speaking at the launch of ‘NIIT eGuru Math Lab’, Ms. Grace Pinto,

In addition to providing greater scope for individual participation in the
process of learning and becoming autonomous learners, the Math Lab also enables
the teacher to demonstrate, explain and reinforce abstract mathematical ideas by
using concrete objects, models, charts, graphs, pictures, posters, etc.
NIIT recently associated with the Government of Gujarat to set a New
Guinness World Record in simultaneous Chess, where 20,480 players played Chess
together, under the guidance of World Chess Champion and NIIT MindChampion
Viswanathan Anand.
