Hoa Sen University is located in the center of dynamic Ho Chi Minh City, the commercial heart of Vietnam. The university was founded in 1991, during a period of economic and social transition as Vietnam began the process of integrating with the global economy.
Four departments were created offering programs in vocational technician training, junior college, bachelor of arts/science and post graduate degrees. These are: Economics and Commerce, Science and Technology, Polytechnic and Linguistics and Culture.
The focus of the university has been on preparing students for employment in Vietnam's expanding and rapidly changing economy. The aim is that after graduation, students will be become more employable, maintain their job performance, keep improving themselves, and possess the capability of performing efficiently in the global workforce.
The educational methodology is student-centric, with an underlying philosophy of 'committed to excellence'.
Training generations of intellectually proficient young adults who can enhance the country's integration into the wider world is the mission of the Hoa Sen University. The Hoa Sen University's objective is to offer progressive education and training through programs for training technicians that directly meet the needs of society.
NIIT formalized its partnership with Hoa Sen University in 2001 and launched three Centers at Ho-Chi-Minh City in September, 2001.
On January 30, 2002, NIIT signed the Master Franchisee Agreement with Hoa Sen University for South Vietnam.
NIIT Vietnam has trained approximately 10,000 students in the last decade. At present, there are approximately 5,000 learners registered in VN. Around 90 percent of students who have successfully completed their programs have been placed in leading IT organizations including LG Electronics, CSC Vietnam, FPT, SacomBank, VietcomBank, HSBC Bank, Global Cyber Soft Vietnam, to name a few.
