Neotel is South Africa's first converged telecommunications network operator. It reaches nine million consumers, catering to the needs of wholesale, business and home customers.  Its various telecommunications licenses, Electronic Communication Network Service License and Electronic Communication Network License, allow Neotel to provide the entire range of value-added voice and data services. To do so, it uses its pure-IP Next Generation network that is powered by a high performance, fiber optic backbone.

Neotel delivers services that reduce the costs of doing business through the optimal use of advanced technologies.  It provides a range of value-added voice, Internet and data services for businesses, wholesale network operators, network providers and consumers.  From a basic telephone handset at home, to the data centers that have become the epicenters of local and international business, Neotel provides them all.

Neotel's Networks

A converged network can deliver Internet, voice and data services, allowing consumers to overcome the burden of having separate networks and service providers for each service.  Neotel's converged service also provides value, simplicity, flexibility, scalability and redundancy.

International Capacity

Together with Tata Communications Limited, Neotel offers end-to-end services with no technical or commercial dependency on any other operator.  Recently, Neotel crossed another significant milestone by bringing capacity and connectivity to South Africa through the WACS undersea cable.

Neotel has invested significantly through Tata Communications in the deployment of an integrated high-capacity, new generation, sub-marine fiber optic cable system. This cable system has linked the southern and western African seaboard to Europe and the West African Cable System (WACS). The new cable system was successfully launched in May, 2012. Neotel also has an extensive investment in SAT-3/SAFE and EASSy, making it the only telecommunications company in South Africa to operate in all five networks.

National Network

Neotel's national network provides more than 14,000 kilometers of optical fiber infrastructure within cities as well as inter-city and national long distance.
