The gNIIT Program is a comprehensive learning program from NIIT, designed especially for undergraduate students who wish to build successful careers in IT and IT-enabled fields. It combines academic learning with practical exposure, helping learners gain in-demand skills and real-world experience. Over the years, gNIIT has helped millions of students get their first job and grow in their professional careers.
The program is open to students who have successfully completed their 10th and 12th and are ready to begin their career journey. It is ideal for learners who are currently pursuing or planning to pursue an undergraduate degree. The gNIIT Program fits seamlessly alongside a 3-year or 4-year college course, enabling you to gain valuable, industry-relevant skills while you continue your studies.
To enroll in the gNIIT Program, you first need to complete the online application form and submit your details. Depending on the program, you may be required to take a profiler assessment to help determine your readiness and suitability. After completing these steps, you can proceed to pay the program fees. Your admission will be confirmed once the payment is successfully processed.
The gNIIT Program is divided into five key stages called “Stacks.” Each Stack focuses on a specific level of learning and skill development.
Stack 1 – Associate Program (ASP):
Builds foundational digital and AI-related skills. Includes 4 courses over 20 weeks, providing the essential knowledge to start your career journey.
Stack 2 – Advanced Program (ADP):
Offers flexible and personalized courses to explore additional skills. Covers 8 courses (including ASP) over 40 weeks, helping learners gain deeper technical and professional competencies.
Stack 3 – Honours Program (HNP):
Focuses on core curriculum skills within your chosen specialization, such as Software Engineering or Data Science. Includes 13 courses (including ADP) over 65 weeks, offering in-depth knowledge and hands-on practice.
Stack 4 – Professional Program (PNP):
Provides advanced specialization skills and professional readiness. Covers 18 courses (including HNP) over 90 weeks, preparing learners for real-world industry challenges.
Stack 5 – Full gNIIT Program (GNT):
Includes a six-month professional practice or internship for real-world exposure. Comprises 19 courses (including PNP) over approximately 116 weeks, giving learners comprehensive skill mastery and practical experience.
Each course in the program consists of 15 sessions, including 30 hours of classroom training and 30 hours of practice. Stack 1 and Stack 2 include four courses each and take about 20 weeks to complete. Stack 3 and Stack 4 include five courses each and take about 25 weeks each. Stack 5 has one course that takes around 26 weeks to complete, focusing on professional practice or internship.
The gNIIT Program offers several key benefits to learners. It features an industry-relevant curriculum developed with input from technology experts, academic partners, and leading professionals, ensuring that the skills taught are current and job-ready. The program can be pursued alongside your undergraduate degree, allowing you to earn a dual qualification. It also offers a “Practice-While-You-Learn” component, where you can gain valuable industry experience through internships, sometimes with a stipend.
Learners can choose from a wide range of specialization tracks based on their interests and career goals. These include Software Engineering, Data Science, Digital Marketing, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Banking & Finance, and FinTech. Please note that the full gNIIT Program is not available for the Banking & Finance specialization.
Learners have the flexibility to exit the gNIIT Program at different stages, depending on their goals and progress. After completing Stack 1, learners become proficient in Digital Technologies. After Stack 2, they gain proficiency in Advanced Digital Technologies. Completion of Stack 3 provides Level 1 competency in a chosen specialization, while Stack 4 leads to full competency in that specialized area. Completing Stack 5 makes the learner a professional in their specialization, ready to take on industry roles.
Learners have multiple options to pay the program fees. They can pay the full amount upfront, often with special concession offers mentioned on the website. Alternatively, they can pay in installments. For more details, please refer to the Finance section on the program page of the NIIT website.
