NIIT launches new training initiatives for career aspirants in Orissa
Bhubaneswar, September 19, 2008: NIIT, a leading Global Talent Development Corporation today introduced a new curriculum on Business Intelligence (BI), under its flagship GNIIT program. Mr. Vijay K. Thadani, CEO NIIT launched the new curriculum and also shared the company’s plans for introducing a range of new training initiatives in the state.
The new GNIIT ‘Business Systems and Information Management (BSIM) track’ will introduce career aspirants on technologies such as Analytics, Programming, Dashboards, Data Mining and Warehousing. This follows NIIT’s alliance with SAS Institute Inc., global leader in business analytics software and services market.
According to IDC's India Business Intelligence Market Program 2007, the services market around Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and associated software market stood at US$ 25 Mn in 2007 and is expected to touch US$ 450 Mn by 2012, growing at a CAGR of 78% for the period 2007-2012.
“Skilled professionals in BI technologies are in demand not only in IT but non-IT companies as well”, said NIIT CEO.
“Amongst domestic sectors, while IT-BPO continues to be the largest recruiters, sectors such as Retail, Telecom, Finance, Banking & Insurance, etc. have also opened a plethora of opportunities for career aspirants”, added Mr. Thadani.
NIIT has also introduced its popular NIIT Edgeineers series for engineering students and IT professionals to help them acquire industry relevant skills and make them ‘job-ready’.
Additionally to prepare students in the region for jobs in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance, NIIT has recently launched the Institute of Finance, Banking & Insurance (IFBI), which offers training programs for individuals and corporates in the BFSI sector.
NIIT has also set up state-of-the-art Synchronous Learning Centre—NIIT Imperia, Centre for Advanced Learning, in Bhubaneswar—which brings executive management programs for working professionals from country’s premier B-schools such as the IIMs (Ahmedabad, Indore, Kolkata and Lucknow); IIFT Delhi; and IMT Ghaziabad.
Present in Orissa for last 21 years, NIIT trains over 4,500 students annually, through its twenty three training centres in Orissa. The Global Talent Development Corporation plans to add 5 more training centres in the state, this year.
