BIG 92.7 FM joins NIIT’s WCLD movement

Kolkata, December 02, 2006: BIG 92.7 FM, the radio initiative of Adlabs Films Ltd has partnered NIIT’s World Computer Literacy Day (WCLD) movement, this year. Every year, on December 2, Asia’s IT Trainer, NIIT sets out with a mission of bringing people and computers together through its revolutionary WCLD movement.

In its act of solidarity for NIIT’s WCLD movement, BIG 92.7 FM, will air a series of messages, programmes and promotions in Kolkata to spread awareness about the need for people today to be computer literate. The FM radio network that reaches over 200 million Indians across 45 cities, 1000 towns and 50000 villages will leverage its talent and resources to help bridge the digital divide.

According to Ms. Tulika Sinha, Head of NIIT’s East and South India Operations, “With WCLD in its sixth year, we have already helped over 500,000 people bridge the digital divide. The success of WCLD movement lies in the commitment to the movement and the integrated effort of NIIT and partner organisations such as BIG 92.7 FM spreading awareness about the need for computer literacy. We are happy to have BIG 92.7 FM as our partner in this initiative and hope to spread this light through World Computer Literacy Day movement."

Spearheading the World Computer Literacy Day 2006 movement, Indian IT Training pioneer NIIT has join hands with many like minded organisations to spread awareness about computer literacy, in the past, and help people start a new life by crossing the digital divide this year.
