Five-time World Champion and NIIT nguru MindChampion Viswanathan Anand felicitates the winners of interschool NIITnguru ‘Math-e-magician Challenge’
Leading schools from Indore participate in the innovative inter-school quiz contest aimed at making Mathematics simpler and fun
Indore, December 19, 2015: Five-time World Champion and NIIT nguru MindChampion Viswanathan Anand today felicitated the winners of NIIT nguru 'Math-e-magician Challenge' - an inter school quiz competition aimed at making Mathematics simpler and fun, at The Emerald Heights International School, Indore. This unique initiative by NIIT nguru aims at bringing elements of fun, excitement and creativity through the spirit of competition in the difficult subject of Mathematics. The objective of the event is to encourage the exposure to practical approach to Mathematics and to make the students implement the philosophy of imagine, investigate and interact.
Organized under the aegis of NIIT Nguru, the Math-e-magician Challenge Series combines the best elements of competitive problem solving test and quiz to bring out the excitement and creativity of mathematics amongst participants.
During the event, GM Viswanathan Anand also visited the state-of-the-art NIIT Nguru MathLab Plus at The Emerald Heights International School. NIIT nguru MathLab Plus is a novel concept that enables school students to learn and explore mathematical concepts and verify mathematical facts and theorems using technology tools like 'Geometer's Sketchpad' as well as hands-on activities using a wide variety of mathematical models. As per impact study conducted, it has been observed that the percentage of students attaining grade A in class-X increased from 38% to 46% after MathLab implementation in schools. Also, 70% of the students agreed that MathLab has increased their interest in Mathematics. Students also agreed that MathLab has decreased their fear for Mathematics.
