New Delhi, November 16, 2007: NIIT, Asia’s No. 1 trainer and leading Global Talent Development Corporation, today announced its partnership with one of the leading public sector banks in India—The Oriental Bank of Commerce—to offer loan facilities to students joining NIIT programs of studies.
As part of the agreement, Oriental Bank of Commerce will provide financial assistance to NIIT students, in the form of educational loans of up to Rs 1.24 lacs per student.
The Oriental Bank of Commerce’ Educational Loan facility is being offered to NIIT students enrolling for IT career programs of over 1 year duration, including the flagship GNIIT program, as well as the NIIT Edgeineers series.
The Loan will be sanctioned as per the Educational Loan Scheme of Oriental Bank of Commerce which offers easy terms & conditions and affordable EMIs, for eligible candidates. The Loan also comes with a Free Personal Accident Insurance of upto Rs.15 lac from the Bank.
According to Mr. Allen C.A. Pereira, Executive Director, Oriental Bank of Commerce, “As part of its endeavor to participate in the national effort to build skills for future growth, the Bank has tied up with NIIT for offering loans to students desirous of enrolling for its IT training programs. Oriental Bank has also partnered with NIIT Imperia for extending Education Loans to working executives who wish to pursue executive management courses from institutes such as the IIMs, through Imperia”.
In addition to the loan facility for students of NIIT’s IT career programs, the Bank is also offering loan of up to Rs. 2 lacs to students, for executive management programs from NIIT Imperia.
Oriental Bank of Commerce has been pro-active in extending Education Loans to the students pursuing higher studies in India & Abroad, at affordable rates of interest. The Bank is allowing special concession in the rate of interest to women beneficiaries, SC/ST and physically challenged. The Bank has so far assisted 23275 students for pursuing higher education—technical/professional through education loans. The bank is providing free personal accident insurance up to Rs. 15 lac to each student who avails of the educational loan in order to mitigate the risks.
