NIIT Announces Strategic Alliance with Kerala State Women Development Corporation

To Offer Career Focused Programs to Enhance Employability for Women in Kerala
Trivandrum, January 31, 2011: NIIT, leading Global Talent Development Corporation and Asia’s largest IT trainer, today announced a strategic alliance with Kerala State Women Development Corporation Ltd. (KSWDC) to deliver employability training program in various emerging sectors for graduate women in Kerala. An agreement to this effect was signed here today by Mr. P T M Sunish, Managing Director, KSWDC and Mr. Manish Mohan, Senior Vice President, NIIT Ltd., in the presence of Smt. P. K. Sreemathi Teacher, Hon’ble Minister for Health & Social Welfare, Govt. of Kerala. The company had earlier signed two Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with KSWDC in this regard.
 
Mr. P T M Sunish, Managing Director, Kerala State Women Development Corporation, said “We are delighted to join hands with NIIT to offer career focused employability training programs exclusively for women. This will help them to acquire various skill sets and secure better paid jobs in the government and corporate sectors.”
 
Mr. Manish Mohan, Senior Vice President, NIIT Limited, said, “We are pleased to partner with Kerala State Women Development Corporation to offer employability linked training programs to help women become financially independent. Our endeavor is to help women across the State develop the required skills and also to help them find appropriate placements. We hope this will mark the beginning of a new phase in their lives."
 
Under the first MoU, NIIT will offer Post Graduate Diploma in Banking Operations (PGDBO) to students. The six months duration program followed by three months of internship session, has been designed and customized with an objective of building a pool of banking professionals across India. The program will offer 100% Placement Assurance in ICICI Bank with a Provisional Appointment letter at the time of enrolment to the aspiring students. The first batch of 15 students have successfully completed the training program and are currently interning with ICICI bank. The tuition fee was disbursed by Kerala State Women Development Corporation as an interest free loan to the women students.
 
The second MoU between NIIT and Kerala State Women Development Corporation has been signed with an objective to train unemployed women candidates across Kerala on various skill development programs. The courses on offer are Certificate Program in In-Store Services (CPISS), Certificate Program in BPO (CPBPO), Certificate Program for PC and Hardware Maintenance (CPPHM). NIIT will offer placement assistance to the students successfully completing the course with a valid offer letter.
