NIIT is India’s Most Customer Responsive Educational Institution: Avaya GlobalConnect Award 2007

New Delhi, January 23, 2008: NIIT, leading Global Talent Development Corporation and Asia’s largest trainer has been conferred the coveted Avaya GlobalConnect Customer Responsiveness 2007, in the Educational Institutions’ Category for the third consecutive year. The Award instituted by Avaya GlobalConnect (AGC), a leading player in converged communication solution space, aims at honouring companies that have fared exceedingly well in their customer responsive policies and practices.

In a survey conducted by noted research agency AC Nielson, NIIT was rated highest in the educational institutions’ category, on prescribed parameters of responsiveness, customer education, top management emphasis, innovation and learning.

Mr. E. Venkatesan, Head of NIIT’s West Zone Operations received the award at a glittering award ceremony held in Mumbai recently.

Aimed at taking the Customer Responsiveness movement to new heights, in India, Avaya GlobalConnect, in partnership with The Economic Times, launched the Customer Responsiveness Award in 2005. This year, the awards were presented to 17 of the 160 participating organizations that have shown a commitment to Customer Responsiveness and measured high on a stringent evaluation procedure drawn by leading business intelligence and market research firms in the country.

Winners from the other 17 categories included Jet Airways (in airlines category), Mahindra Holidays & Resorts (Travel and Tourism), Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces (hotels), Acer (IT hardware), Infrasoft Technologies and Wipro (IT Software), Citigroup Global Services (BPO), Apollo Hospitals (Healthcare), NIIT (Educational Institutions), Maruti Suzuki (Automobiles), Kotak Securities (Financial Services), ICICI Bank (banking), ICICI Prudential (Insurance), ITC (Foods), LG Electronics (Consumer Durables), DHL Express (Logistics), Reliance Industries, Nagothane manufacturing division (Manufacturing) and RITES ( PSU).

The Award methodology has been designed by Professor M. Janakiraman of IIM, Lucknow and is a revolutionary attempt to quantify the efforts the companies are putting into the Customer Responsiveness cause.
