NIIT MindChampion Viswanathan Anand mentors young Chess enthusiasts in Kolkata

Kolkata, December 22, 2013: NIIT MindChampion Viswanathan Anand today interacted with young chess enthusiasts in the city sharing glimpses from his journey on how strategic thinking and determination helped him emerge as a champion. Anand expressed happiness over the fact that ‘Chess’ is now gaining popularity in India and young enthusiasts of the game are pursuing it with seriousness and dedication. Eminent personalities from the academia fraternity of Kolkata & Industry were also present on the occasion.
The MindChampion spoke at length on how academics just like Chess is a mind game that requires concentration and in-depth understanding of the subject. During the talk, Anand emphasized on how Chess positively impacts analytical and logical thinking in children, thus helping them excel in studies. While addressing the students, Anand also said that only continuous learning with passion and commitment can help them to reach the pinnacle of success.
