NIIT offers futuristic programs in Digital Transformation to students in Lucknow

-      Offers futuristic career programs in digital transformation aligned to ‘Make in UP’ project

Lucknow, August 31, 2017: NIIT Limited, a global leader in skills and talent development, aims to create a global workforce in Lucknow by offering futuristic digital transformation career programs to the students in the city. On offer are programs under the DigiNxt series, like MEAN Stack, Big Data & Data Sciences Stack, Cloud Stack and Cyber-Security. These programs will offer students an opportunity to acquire skills aligned to the fast-evolving digital economy.

The DigiNxt series is aligned to UP government's most ambitious project 'Make in UP' - a start-up fund for promoting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within the state. The policy aims at the state-centric 'Make in UP' project, in alignment with the Centre's flagship 'Make in India' mission.

According to a recent release by NASSCOM, the skills of the future would be Big Data Analytics, Cloud & Cybersecurity Services, IoT, Artificial Intelligence and many other Digital Technologies. A huge demand is foreseen for roles such as mobile app development, social media, data scientists & platform engineering. According to a McKinsey report on 'Technology Jobs & the Future of Work', digital technologies could contribute $550 billion to $ 1 trillion of economic impact per year in India by the year 2025. According to another renowned survey, 69% of IT leaders expect huge surge in the job market in the next 3 to 5 years due to digital technologies.

Elaborating on Digital Transformation opportunities in the new age economy, NIIT conducted a Tech- Talk on ‘Digital Transformation: Impact, Challenges & opportunities’ for students aspiring for a career in a digital led economy at National PG college Lucknow.  Dr. Nirja Singh, Principal, National PG College; Dr. Rakesh Jain, Course Coordinator, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Kendra, National PG College; Dr. Amitabha Yadav, Assistant Professor, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Kendra, National PG College and Dr. Vinay Yadav, Assistant Professor, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Kendra, National PG College from National PG College, Lucknow attended the talk. The session was addressed by Mr. Vijay Thadani, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, NIIT Limited.

The Tech-Talk highlighted how digital transformation along with the new technological advancements will impact the IT & Banking industry and the engineering profession in the future. It also familiarized students with the current challenges and the opportunities available in the field of digital transformation. This session threw light on different fields of digital transformation available for students, thereby helping them choose the right field based on their interest and aptitude, and enlightened them on the plethora of career opportunities available to the graduates.

According to All India Council for Technical Education more than 60% of the engineers graduating from technical institutes across India remain unemployed. There is a huge variation in standards of technical colleges in the country, a majority of whom churn out graduates who are not employable. While the higher education institutes are grappling with these issues, the skill sets required by the industry has undergone a change. IT now requires higher levels of leading-edge skills like cloud analytics, robotics, process automation, and so on, and engineering graduates of today do not always come qualified.

NIIT Lucknow has been working closely with global leaders in Technology to provide training on state-of-the-art technology platforms over last 11 years and has trained more 10,000 students in IT, Banking & Skills Domain, Corporate Executives, Professionals and BPL candidates.
