New Delhi, September 22, 2009: NIIT, the leading Global Talent Development Corporation, has once again been conferred the ‘Top Training Company Award 2009’ by the country’s leading IT publication group Cybermedia, the publisher’s of Dataquest. NIIT has been receiving the coveted award successfully for the last 16 years since the magazine introduced this category.
Established in 1981, to help the nascent IT industry overcome its human resource challenges, NIIT has today grown to be amongst world’s leading talent development companies. The company continues to provide innovative range of programs as a solution to manpower needs in the IT industry.
On receiving the trophy at the award function organized by Cybermedia group, in the capital recently, NIIT COO P.Rajendran said, “We are really pleased to receive this award once again and that our efforts to improve and bring about innovative solutions in IT training have been acknowledged across the Industry.”
NIIT received the award for its talent development initiatives across the world, in the year 2008-09. In its annual IT industry survey, leading IT magazine, Dataquest, reports that NIIT has further strengthened its leadership position in the Indian IT training and is 1.5 times the combined revenue of the next 4 competitors. NIIT’s revenue of Rs.1148 crores in 2008-2009 formed 30% of the total IT education market in India.
The Indian IT education market has grown by 13% to reach Rs 3156 crore in FY 09, whereas e-Learning grew 14% with 671 crore in the year. Within the IT training market, Individual training segment grew by 15% to reach 1357 crore and corporate training grew by 11% to reach 1799 crore.
Recently NIIT’s innovative learning solutions received three awards in the Digital Learning India 2009 Awards category. NIIT was also honoured with the CIO 100 Award 2009 for exceptional work in IT leadership worldwide.
