New Delhi, December 12, 2007: NIIT, a leading Global Talent Development Corporation and Asia’s No.1 Trainer has been conferred the ‘Top Training Company Award 2007’ from country’s leading ICT publication group Cybermedia, the publisher’s of Dataquest.
NIIT CEO Vijay K Thadani received the trophy at the award function organized by Cybermedia group, in the capital late last evening.
Others who received the coveted IT awards in the corporate category, include: HP India (Top PC Vendor); IBM (Top Server Vendor); Cisco (Top Networking Vendor); HP (Printing & Imaging); Ingram Micro (Top Distributor); Tata Consultancy Services (Top IT Company and software exporter, Best IT Employer)); VCustomer (Best BPO Employer); and IIT Kharagpur (Top T-School).
The Dataquest ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ went to NR Narayana Murthy, Chairman & Chief Mentor, Infosys, while Ajai Chowdhry, CEO, HCL was conferred the ‘IT Person of the Year Award’. Project Bhoomi of Government of Karnataka received the ‘Pathbreaker Award’, at the ceremony.
NIIT received the award for its talent development initiatives across the world, in the year 2006-07. In its annual IT industry survey, Dataquest reported that NIIT had further strengthened its leadership position in the Indian IT training industry and is now double the combined revenues of the next 6 players put together with revenues of Rs 795 Crores up 77% YoY in FY 2006-07. According to the report, the Indian IT training industry reported a growth of 46% logging in total revenues of Rs 2,135 crore in 2006-2007.
