NIIT UNIQUA launches specialized Technical and Soft Skill Training Program for Uttar Pradesh Police Personnel

A novel initiative to assist Uttar Pradesh Police on dial “SEVA 100” for offering efficient services to citizens

Agra, April 27, 2011: NIIT Uniqua- Centre for Process Excellence, a joint venture of NIIT-Genpact, today launched a specialized technical and soft skill training program for Uttar Pradesh Police.  The training program was unveiled by Mr. Asim Arun, Deputy Inspector General, Agra. Also present on the occasion were Ankit Khanna, Uniqua coordinator Agra, NIIT Uniqua, Mr. Sukhvir Singh, Radio-Wireless Control Room Incharge , Mr. Bhanu Pratap, Inspector- Hariparvat Police Station , Mr. Rohit Mishra, CO-Poilce Station and Mr. Umesh Chand, Team Leader Constable, Aligarh Control Room.

The objective of the training program is to offer technical and soft skill training to police personnel which will help them efficiently handle calls made to the emergency no. 100. The training capsule will include training on call opening, call handling, taking down required information, providing a complaint number to the caller, giving emergency assistance through basic advice on phone, alert the local PCR van at the time of emergency etc.  NIIT Uniqua will train 25 Agra Police personnel over the next 30 days. These people will also be trained on soft skills and etiquette to communicate politely and gently with the citizens and change the public perception about the police force.
Mr. Asim Arun, Deputy Inspector General,remarked, “We are pleased to join hands with NIIT Uniqua, a leader in IT space with expertise in soft skill training to help upgrade our police force in softer skills and public dealing. I am confident that through this novel initiative of Seva 100, we will be able to reach timely and effective help to the citizens.”

This initiative has been under taken to help the police force offer better and prompt assistance to people in times of emergency.”
Seva 100 is an initiative by the Uttar Pradesh police to extend timely help to public, wherein the aggrieved can make a call to emergency helpline number 100. The caller will be assisted by police in registering the complaint and alerting the local PCR van.
