Rotary International District 3010 and NIIT Yuva Jyoti (NYJ) enter into a partnership to enhance livelihood of youth in Delhi-NCR

  • Tie-up  to help youth from less privileged sections of the society through job-oriented programs
  • Rotary International District 3010 to sponsor over 5000  youth  for job-oriented courses at NYJ over the next one year

​Gurgaon, August 22, 2014: Rotary International District 3010 and NIIT Yuva Jyoti (NYJ) - an alliance between NIIT and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC - a PPP not for profit company promoted by Ministry of Finance, with 49% equity held by Govt. of India), entered into a partnership today to enhance livelihood of youth from less privileged sections of society across Delhi-NCR & surrounding regions through skilling and employability training. Under this partnership, Rotary International District 3010 plans to sponsor over 5000 youth over the next 1 year for job-oriented courses offered by NIIT Yuva Jyoti (NYJ). This was announced in a press conference in Gurgaon today in the presence of Rtn. Sanjay Khanna, District Governor; Rtn. Umang Das, District Director (Literacy & CSR), Rotary International District 3010 and Mr. Sanjay Bahl, President, NIIT Yuva Jyoti Limited.

The tie-up will help youth from less privileged sections of the society chart ambitious careers by opting for the programs that suits their aptitude. NYJ imparts training across different service sectors – Retail, IT/ITeS, Hospitality, Banking, Telecom etc. Built on a strong foundation of the NIIT pedagogy, state-of-the-art industry endorsed curriculum will be used to transfer skills to students.

Speaking on this significant partnership, Rtn. Sanjay Khanna, District Governor, Rotary International District 3010 said"In accordance with our mission of bringing together business and professional leaders to offer humanitarian services, we are happy to partner with NIIT Yuva Jyoti to reach out to the youth from less privileged sections of the society with job-ready training."

Rtn. Umang Das, District Director (Literacy & CSR), Rotary International District 3010 said, "Rotary International District 3010 has been working closely with India Inc. to eliminate poverty and unemployment by making industry aligned training programs available to less privileged youth. Our alliance with NIIT Yuva Jyoti is a huge step in that direction."

The NYJ courses will enhance employability skills of students by offering occupational, communication and professional life skills to make them industry ready. The students will also enjoy the benefits of certification and placement assistance. This initiative will expose youth to the enormous opportunities available in the services sectors, the skill sets required in these sectors and the existing skill gaps. Furthermore, NYJ will help youth to achieve their dreams through its unique training methodology, course content and infrastructure.
