Students Gift Computer Skills to Teachers Using NIIT’s iTEACH

A Teacher’s Day initiative by NIIT for Building a Computer Literate Bihar

Patna, September 06, 2010: NIIT Limited, leading Global Talent Development Corporation and Asia’s largest IT trainer, today organised a unique one day computer training program for teachers in Bihar. The training program was conducted on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, wherein students taught teachers basic computer skills. The training programme was inaugurated by Smti. Kiran Kumari, District Education Officer, Patna. Also present on the occasion were Smti. Charu Shila, ex-Principal, Mahant Hanuman Saran High School alongwith dignitaries from the Bharat Vikas Parishad.
The training programme aimed at Building a Computer Literate Bihar by equipping teachers with basic computer knowledge. The training program was offered by NIIT’s School Learning Solutions through iTEACH. Under this training programme, young students demonstrated to their teachers on how to use latest technology tools, producing a report or presentation using technology tools, forming database, File Management & Windows Explorer Skills and Downloading Software from the Web.
Speaking on the launch of the training Program, Shri Smti. Kiran Kumari, District Education Officer, Patna, remarked, “With the development of technology, use of Computer has today become a necessity in every sector. I am confident that this initiative by NIIT for our teachers will equip them with the contemporary IT skills and take Bihar into a new era of development.”
Wishing the teachers on the occasion of Teachers Day, Mr. Sanjiv Pande, President, School Learning Solutions, NIIT Ltd., said. “Teachers play a key role in developing the human capital of tomorrow. We are delighted to offer computer training programs to teachers in Bihar. iTeach is yet another initiative of NIIT in developing ICT training in Bihar.”
