While there are many ways to create simulations, we choose to build our simulations in Unity 3D. Unity is arguably the most mature and widely deployed 3D gaming/simulation platform in the market. It offers a variety of advantages, including massive customizability, very high-fidelity simulations, deployment to a wide range of environments (including VR, allows for the possibility of iterative deployment of the training in the future), and a future-proof upgrade/evolution path.
The Unity 3D game engine allows programmers to use a range of languages to code custom behaviors. Our team uses standard C# for all custom-made functionality.
Our modeling team uses a combination of industry standard high-tech hardware and software to generate high quality 3D models. The software used includes Maya, for organic (human) models and 3D Studio Max, for inorganic (environment) creation. We also have several, excellent existing character models available in our internal library, whose features were captured from live human actors using the same capture studio employed by big budget films like Final Fantasy, television hits like Doctor Who, and AAA games like Dead Island and Alien Isolation.
Our 3D animation team uses the latest hardware and software to create realistic human and mechanical animations. They are facile with Motion Builder: figural and facial rigging, animation, and motion capture editing as well as Maya 3D: complex mechanical and organic modeling and animation.
Our team is skilled in a wide range of graphics and media tools and is completely fluent in the full Adobe CC suite of tools.
Our technology supports a range of immersive content and devices, including all major headsets from Oculus, Vive and Windows Mixed Reality. Our partnership with the Immerse platform also enables desktop applications and browser-based WebGL, plus mobile applications for smartphones and tablets.
