NIIT unleashes another novel initiative -
“MindChampions like you, find new ways to win” -
to motivate youngsters to overcome challenging situations
Lucknow, April 15, 2014: Five-time World Champion and NIIT MindChampion Viswanathan Anand was in the city today to unveil a unique campaign designed by NIIT - FutureSmart. The campaign aims to help students who have appeared for Class X and XII Board exams and are at a critical juncture to decide the future course of their career. Anand also interacted with the young minds and shared glimpses from his journey on how strategic thinking, determination and making the right choices helped him emerge as a champion. Also present on the occasion were Vinod Koul, Vice President, Individual learning Solutions, NIIT Ltd. and Vishwas Kshirsagar, DGM – Marketing, Individual learning Solutions, NIIT.
FutureSmart is a tech-savvy umbrella program for smart students who are keen to explore new age courses. Based on changing industry trends, FutureSmart has been designed to offer career consultations and choices to the students that are best suited to their aptitudes and are aligned to the needs of the emerging knowledge economy. The program also allows students to revise lectures and catch up on missed classes with Lesson on Demand and brush up practical applications sitting at home. Group study is also encouraged using group based online learning modules.
NIIT administers a Psychometric Assessment on students which help ascertain their strengths and advices them on which Career Path they should choose to be successful. Personalised Career Counselling is offered basis the Career Assessment Report. Students have access to not just NIIT faculty but experts from across the globe.

Anand defied all odds to emerge as the winner of FIDE Candidates 2014 held recently in Russia with a round to spare. He has thus emerged as the ‘Challenger’ to reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen, with the title Match scheduled sometime in November this year, silencing critics and enforcing the belief of his fans who have stood by him over the years.
Commemorating Anand’s win, NIIT unveiled a novel initiative aimed at motivating youngsters to overcome their challenging circumstances and emerge victorious through determination, hard work and perseverance. The initiative titled
“MindChampions like you, find new ways to win” has met with an encouraging response with youngsters sharing their own personal
`Vishy moment’, a moment when they exhibited resilience to emerge a winner even in tough situations.
