NIIT launches comprehensive ‘NIIT eGURU’ solution for schools
- New Interactive Class Rooms, Labs to enhance teaching and learning experience
- Partners with Intel and Microsoft for latest technology and software
New Delhi, October 15, 2008: Leading Global Talent Development Corporation, NIIT today announced the launch of a spectrum of products and solutions for the Schools of tomorrow, under the aegis of ‘NIIT eGURU’. The futuristic NIIT eGURU range for schools, comprises of ‘Interactive Classrooms’ for teachers, ‘Math lab’ and ‘IT Wizard’ for students, and ‘Quick School’ an Education Resource Planning solution for school management.
The NIIT eGURU portfolio leverages the cutting-edge technology from Intel, the software platform from Microsoft and has been designed around the guidelines of the ‘National Curriculum Framework’-2005.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Vijay K Thadani, CEO NIIT said, “NIIT, pioneered the integration of ICT in schools, and has further strengthened its portfolio with the launch of NIIT eGURU solution - a holistic education package that addresses the needs of all key stakeholders within the education realm—Students, Teachers, School management and Parents.

While, NIIT eGuru ‘Interactive Classroom’ solution is based on Intel technologies and architecture, NIIT eGuru ‘IT Wizard’ curriculum is based on Microsoft’s Windows Vista and Office 2007 suite.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. R. NIIT has been using Microsoft technologies for deploying its school learning solutions. ‘IT Wizard’ that was earlier based on Microsoft's Windows XP and Office XP solutions has now been upgraded to include Windows Vista and Office 2007, thus enabling a rich new experience.

During the announcement NIIT also unveiled a new logo for the ‘NIIT eGURU’ product portfolio.
NIIT eGURU solutions:
Interactive Classrooms – Designed as per the recommendations of National Curriculum Framework-2005, NIIT eGURU Interactive Classrooms is an integrated teaching and learning solution aimed at the teachers. At the core of NIIT eGURU Interactive Classrooms is the embedded Teaching Learning Material, that enhances teaching and learning through elements of interactivity, automation, customization, web links library, and Teaching Learning Plan. The solution provides tools through which the teachers and the management will be able to track the performance of an individual child and assess the areas where the child is weak.
Math Lab - NIIT eGURU ‘Math Lab’ enables school students to learn and explore mathematical concepts and verify mathematical facts and theorems using technology tools. Based on the three fundamentals of Imagination, Investigation and Interaction, NIIT eGURU Math Lab offers Multiple Teaching and Learning Aids entailing Technology Applications, Videos, Measuring Instruments, and Tables and Charts among others.
IT Wizard - This unique new IT program from NIIT enables Schools to keep abreast of technology.
It equips the students with core computer knowledge and IT skills, which is an essential part of the Child’s development & intellectual growth for the 21st Century. We have upgraded our flagship ‘IT WIZARD’ curriculum to include Windows Vista and Office 2007
Quick School – is an Educational Resource Planning tool for schools which offers an integrated and comprehensive solution spanning all functional requirements of educational institutions.
As part of NIIT eGURU offering, the benefits of the NIIT Mind Champion Academy- a joint initiative between NIIT and Grandmaster Vishwanathan Anand, will be extended to the schools. The initiative consists of:
  • Formation of Chess clubs at Schools
  • Chess coaching
  • Chess tournaments
  • Identifying talents and encouraging them to play tournaments and get FIDE rating

The chess clubs at the schools are facilitated with a chess kit consisting of a chess coaching software, chess board, posters etc.

The schools will also benefit by getting a national platform to showcase the talent of their children in digital arts. Opportunity to participate in ‘Digital Arts Festival’- an annual event conducted by NIIT, will also form a part of the offering.

NIIT School Learning Solutions division, which has covered nearly 7.8 million students, has provided computer-based learning to over 9,500 government and private schools combined, equipping them with crucial IT skills to prepare them for tomorrow’s knowledge society.
