Training or capacity building is one of the major activities under Ministry of External Affairs ITEC (Indian Technical & Economic Co-operation) program. Through this unique initiative, Government of India offers training to citizens from developing countries to empower them with not just professional skills, but also prepare them for an increasingly globalized and competitive world.
The ITEC/SCAAP and TCS Colombo program was launched in 1964 as a bilateral programme of assistance of the Government of India. Under the scheme candidates from 158+ countries are trained in some of the best institutions giving special knowledge in the field of Information Technology, Rural development, Development of small Scale Industries and Mass communication.
Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India has entrusted NIIT to impart quality IT training. Participants from across the globe had come for nine consecutive years including special training programs for participants from countries under G-15, Asean, and Special training program for Afghan Nationals, two special training programs for Ecuadorians and special training program for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iraq.
