Mumbai, July 5, 2007: Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung, Hon’ble Prime Minister of
Vietnam who is on a 3-day visit to India to boost bilateral ties between India
and Vietnam met Mr. G. Raghavan, President, NIIT’s Global Individual Learning
Business who represented global training major, NIIT, here today.
During the hour long meeting with the Vietnamese Prime Minister, Mr.
Raghavan highlighted NIIT’s commitment to inclusively build IT Talent in Vietnam
and the company’s plans to expand its education network in the country. Said Mr.
Raghavan, “NIIT will work with the Vietnamese Industry and the Academia
to help build their IT skill base, in the spirit of partnership.”
Outlining the company’s plans for the region, Mr. Raghavan said that NIIT
is looking at partnering with leading colleges and universities in Vietnam to
reach out to a larger number of students and help them gain IT skills.
Since 2001, NIIT has been preparing the Vietnamese youth in state-of-the
art-IT skills through its network of over two dozen education centres in 13
provinces.
NIIT’s engagement in Vietnam goes beyond business, to focus on positive
contribution to the society, such as providing IT education to the physically
challenged youngsters.
