Jammu, March 12th , 2008: NIIT, leading Global Talent Development Corporation and Asia’s No. 1 trainer announced the extension of NIIT GlobalNet+, a specialized training program that caters to learners who aspire to build careers in Networking and Infrastructure Management Technologies to its education centre in Jammu, today. With this, the NIIT Jammu Centre will become the first and the only one in J&K, to offer this specialized training program, post its launch in key metros last year.

Ms. Shampi Venkatesh, Vice President, NIIT Limited, while talking to the press highlighted the emerging career opportunities in this sector. As per an IDC survey, there will be a need for 3,75,000 skilled professionals, just in this space, creating a shortfall of nearly 1 lakh skilled professionals, by 2009.

The program, she said,  provides the learners the option of pursuing globally mapped certification programs such as A+, Network+, MCDST, CCNA etc with an option to specialize further in diverse fields of networking and information security.

NIIT has Mobile Servers which are deputed to give tests as a Prometeric Centre. With the launch of this program at NIIT centre in Jammu, the facility will be equipped to handle tests, and students studying in the centre will not have to go out of J&K for appearing in tests for International Certifications.

Ms. Venkatesh explained that NIIT GlobalNet+ is supported by state-of-the-art educational methodologies that are designed to impart practical networking skills through dedicated networking labs that provide exposure to latest technologies.

Mr. R.K. Sharma, NIIT’s Business Partner in Jammu also highlighted the need for specialized training programs in the IMS space, for career aspirants in the region.
