The session received a tremendous response from participants in New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Pune, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Bhopal, Patna, Jamshedpur, Bhubaneswar, Nasik, Nagpur and Mysore to hear and interact with Dr Amit Kapoor, who took the session while being at the Delhi studio of NIIT Imperia Centre for Advanced Learning.

Addressing the students at NIIT Imperia Centres, Dr.Amit Kapoor said, “Innovation is the key to growth in such uncertain times. It is important to examine the situation and look for transformational solutions. Innovation is not only about looking for new avenues but also about improving the present. Effective planning and execution are the key components for successful implementation of innovation strategies.

“NIIT has been a pioneer in innovative education and NIIT Imperia is a great example of that. Through NIIT Imperia a lot of working professionals across the country have benefited. By eliminating distances, it enables professionals to have easy access to world-class education.” He added.

Dr. Amit Kapoor interacted with students and professionals and responded to their queries, using NIIT Imperia’s Synchronous Learning Technology platform. The technology connects remote classrooms live with faculty for imparting executive management programs from premier business schools such as the IIMs (Ahmedabad, Indore, Kolkata, and Lucknow), IMT Ghaziabad and IIFT New Delhi. It allows working professionals to pursue management education within their city after office hours or on weekends from premier institutes.

Welcoming Dr Kapoor, and students, Shraman Jha, Head, NIIT Imperia said, “The ‘NIIT Imperia Leadership Series’ enables our students to learn from the experiences of stalwarts who have excelled in their chosen field. We are pleased to have Dr. Amit Kapoor with us today as part of the series. At NIIT Imperia, it is our constant endeavour to provide strategic inputs to our students and I am sure that Dr Kapoor’s sharp insights will be beneficial for all of us.”

Dr. Amit Kapoor, Professor of Strategy and Industrial Economics at MDI, is an affiliate faculty for the Microeconomics of Competitiveness course of Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness, Harvard Business School. He is also the honorary Chairman at the Institute for Competitiveness and a regular columnist in Business World, The Economic Times and Business Standard.

This session was in continuation to “NIIT Imperia Leadership Series”, initiated by NIIT Imperia, for bringing thought leaders to share their experiences with management students & professionals across geographies.  Last year World Chess Champion and NIIT Brand Ambassador, Viswanathan Anand utilized the teaching capabilities of this technology to share his thoughts on ‘Strategy in Tough Times: Lessons from Chess’, where he addressed students live across 19 cities. Some of the past sessions of the series were delivered by eminent personalities like Mr Ben Verwaayen, BT Group CEO and Dr. Jean-Pierre Lehmann, Professor of International Political Economy, IMD Lausanne, Switzerland & Founding Director of the Evian group.

Synchronous learning is an effective tool to bring together the faculty and students, otherwise separated by significant distances, using cutting-edge technology. Through the new high-tech environment, students can experience learning almost in the same way as they would if they were in a normal classroom, querying their instructor and answering questions. Dedicated broadband two-way audio-video, together with special software to replicate face-to-face teaching, are used in this application.
