Rotary International District 3010 and NIIT Yuva Jyoti Ltd. (NYJL) felicitate meritorious students at a ceremony in Gurgaon

All the students of the 1st batch placed with leading organizations

Gurgaon, April 29, 2015: Rotary International District 3010and NIIT Yuva Jyoti Ltd.  (NYJL) - an alliance between NIIT and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC - a PPP not for Profit Company under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India), today felicitated the successful students at a certification ceremony in Gurgaon. The ceremony was attended by Rtn. Sanjay Khanna, District Governor, Rtn. Sudhir Mangla, DG Elect, Rtn. Umang Das PP and Mr. Bhaskar Ballave, Head Sponsored and Government Business, NIIT Yuva Jyoti Ltd.

Rotary International District 3010 & NIIT Yuva Jyoti entered into a partnership in August 2014, to enhance livelihood of youth from lesser privileged sections of the society and help them to build ambitious careers by opting for programs that suits their aptitude. The certification and felicitation ceremony was organized for the first batch of students' who were trained for four months in Data Entry Course along with soft skills, personality development and ICT Skills.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Bhaskar Ballave, Head Sponsored and Government Business, NIIT Yuva Jyoti Ltd. said, "NIIT Yuva Jyoti has been working with a vision to offer viable career options to unprivileged youth whose need for skill development has largely remained unaddressed. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the successful NYJ students and wish them the very best for their professional endeavours."

Rotary International District 3010 has been working closely with India Inc. to eliminate unemployment by making industry aligned training programs available to less privileged youth. The tie up between NYJ and Rotary International District 3010 will help students to acquire the skill sets necessary for employment. Rotary International District 3010 sponsored the students while NYJ trained them and placed them with good organisation. The 1st batch that was launched in October 2014 has got 100% placement.

Rtn. Umang Das,District Chairman – Skill building and CSR, Rotary International District 3010 said, "Through this strategic partnership with NYJ, we aim to offer students opportunities to align their skill sets with the needs of the local industry – thus bringing local jobs to the youth. Further the emerging mobile internet society will throw up new job opportunities as also the need for the new skill sets to avail these new opportunities."

The NYJ courses will enhance employability skills of students by offering occupational, communication and professional life skills to make them industry ready. The students will also enjoy the benefits of certification and placement assistance. This initiative will expose youth to the enormous opportunities available in the services sectors, the skill sets required in these sectors and the existing skill gaps. Furthermore, NYJ will help youth to achieve their dreams through its unique training methodology, course content and infrastructure.

Rotary International (R.I) District 3010 comprising the National Capital Territory of Delhi, the revenue districts of Faridabad, Gurgaon, Rohtak, Revari, Sonipat and Mohindergardh in Haryana, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar in U. P. came into being on July 1, 1984 with 30 clubs as RI District 301. It consists of 133 clubs with 5,500 Rotarians.

About NIIT Yuva Jyoti

'NIIT Yuva Jyoti' (NYJ) is an alliance between NIIT and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) - a PPP not for profit companyunder the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India.

NIIT has entered into a significant public-private partnership with NSDC to enhance skills and employability for youth across India. Starting with Karnal in 2011, NYJ aims to offer skill development courses at over 1500 center locations during the next 6 to 7 years. The aim is to provide industry and job specific training to around 70 lakh young Indians by 2022, thus helping create a pool of job-ready work-force for the service industry.

NYJ centres assess the existing skill sets and aspirations of the participants and accordingly help them choose the right program, mapped to the requirements of the local industry.  With its mission of "Local Youth, Local Jobs", NIIT Yuva Jyoti has trained over 1.28 lac students in the past 3 years through its 74 training centres across the country, most of which are located in Tier III & Tier IV cities close to rural locations. It currently offers 20 industry specific skill development courses across 6 service sectors.
