NIIT to offer integrated computer education program to Delhi Public School, Ruby Park
Kolkata, July 19, 2007: NIIT has partnered with Delhi Public School, Ruby Park—branch of one of the leading public schools’ chain in the country—to offer its integrated computer education program, ‘NIIT@School’ to the school children. NIIT will offer holistic IT education and IT assisted education program to over 3800 children from Kindergarten to 9th standard in the city’s premier school. The program will range from infrastructure consultancy to facilities management, in addition to validated multimedia content mapped to school curriculum, courseware, assessment and certification of students.
A state-of-the-art computer learning centre was inaugurated by Mr. L. Balasubramanian, President—Schools Learning Solutions Business, NIIT in the presence of Mr. Alok Tibrewal, Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS, Ruby Park and Ms. Sunita Sen, Principal, DPS.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tibrewal said, “Our alliance with NIIT is in line with the objective of delivering the best to our students. DPS will integrate NIIT’s computer aided learning solution into the school curriculum to give our children, access to world class IT education and tools that will facilitate better learning of subjects.”

Through the new initiative, NIIT will also introduce its national level Chess Championship, under ‘NIIT MindChampions Academy’, a joint initiative with World No. 1 Chess player and NIIT Brand Ambassador Viswanathan Anand, in DPS. Aimed at exposing students in the age group of 6-15 years to the world of chess and initiating young minds on a path of excellence in academics as well as sports, the initiative is successfully running in 4000 Indian schools, involving nearly a lakh student, across the network of private and government schools where NIIT offers training.
To further engage the young minds, NIIT will also introduce its ‘Digital Art Festival’ among the DPS students enabling them to participate in this national level contest to showcase their creative talent by painting using computers.
