NIIT to Present at the 11th Annual Enterprise Learning! & Conference Expo
Company to reveal innovations in video based nurse education featuring Rush University
ATLANTA, Georgia September 6, 2011 NIIT is proud to announce that it is participating in the 11th Annual Enterprise Learning! & Conference Expo (ELCE). The event, organized by B2B Media Company, will take place September 27-29, 2011, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. ELCE exclusively serves learning executives who are leveraging technology-enabled learning and development to drive enterprise performance.
NIIT will present on day two of the conference, Thursday, September 28, 2011, at 8:30am. CognitiveArts , NIIT instructional design organization, will present a case study featuring Rush University, one of the top five nursing colleges in the United States. The session will lead by Dr. Gregg Collins, PhD, NIIT Vice President of Worldwide Instructional Design along with Linnea Carlson-Sabelli, Professor, Department of Community, Systems and Mental Health Nursing at Rush University. The session will introduce innovations in nurse education through video simulation-based e-learning to train psychiatric nurses.
Psychiatric nurses diagnose and treat patients, and many of the decisions they make can have profound consequences, positive and negative, in the lives of those patients. We believe that the course that has been developed for Rush University represents a pioneering effort in this important area, said Dr. Collins. But while the medical profession in general relies more and more on simulation-based techniques for training doctors and nurses on life-or-death procedures, there has been a dearth of simulation-based training around psychiatric diagnoses and treatment, continued Collins.
